WASC members' newsletters

This page provides links to WASC members' newsletters dating back to 1969. The files are all password protected, for WASC members only. Most of the work of scanning was done by the late Ray Harris. Pre-1969 material has yet to be scanned. The original hand-written minute book covering 1951 to 1963 is in the WASC archives.

Older newsletters were actually titled 'minutes' since they were almost entirely concerned with recording in-person meetings. later they changed name to 'Newsletter'. Many of the issues contained information about displays presented to the meetings, sometimes in considerable detail. Apart from the cumulative file 3/57 to 9/73, there is no central list of the WASC displays which have taken place over the years.

Newsletters also summarised AGMs and increasingly contained general membership news. Address lists were published from time to time, but are not reproduced here.

The frequency of newsletters varied from a minimum of twice a year (for example in the early days of Cameo magazine), more usually three or four times, and sometimes more. Most recently the three newsletters a year sent with Cameo have been supplemented with newsletters sent by email.

Given the number of items - there are over 170 files - we have grouped them into ten-year sets below. The summary lists the dates of each file in the year sets.
